MyKeyworder alternatives for stock video (2026)
MyKeyworder is a free keyword tool for images. If you sell footage, here is what keywords and uploads a clip instead, from each vendor’s own pages, with the date we read them.
At a glance
| MyKeyworder | Rushlot | |
|---|---|---|
| Keywords for a clip | Its tools work on images: “Find Images and Generate Keywords Instantly”, and AI to “identify keywords associated with images”. Keywording video is not mentioned on its home, Updates or Lightroom pages. [1][2][3] | A cloud model drafts the metadata from your title and a few small frames; the clip itself is not sent. Latin species names are checked against the WoRMS register first. |
| Getting the clip to the agencies | No upload. Its Shutterstock Portfolio Optimizer looks at the keywords of images “that have already been submitted”. [1] | Four: Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Pond5 and Getty Images, to your own accounts. SFTP for Adobe Stock (qualified accounts), FTPS for Shutterstock and Pond5, Getty’s own web uploader in your browser. |
| Pond5 and Getty Images | Neither is mentioned on its home page. [1] | Pond5 over FTPS, reading the title and keywords written into the file; Getty Images through Getty’s own web uploader, with its CSV import filled. |
| Where the keywords end up | In Lightroom, where the plugin applies them to the image. Free users export up to 10 keywords per image; a donation of US$10 or more lifts the cap. [3] | Writes the title and keywords into the video file as XMP, right before upload. Adobe Stock and Pond5 read it. Shutterstock and Getty do not, so Rushlot fills their CSV import as well. Measured on a real account, 2026-09-07, 2026-09-08, 2026-09-11 |
| Latest release | The newest of its 8 dated updates is the WordPress Media Tagger, on 14 June 2020. The Lightroom plugin is at version 1.31. [2][3] | New: the download opens with the beta. Until then there is a waiting list. |
| Cost | A free service supported by donations, by PayPal or Bitcoin. Image-recognition credits are bought after signing in. [4] | 20 clips free, no card. Then 19 € a month or 159 € a year, for 150 clips a month. No commission on your sales. |
Where MyKeyworder does better
- For photos it stays a free option, “the free service at mykeyworder.com”, supported by donations. [4]
- Its website tool supports 21 languages, among them Thai, Korean, Japanese and both forms of Chinese. [1][2]
- Its Lightroom plugin runs inside Lightroom 5, 6 and Classic CC, on Mac and PC. [3]
Where Rushlot differs
- Video only. Each clip is checked against each marketplace’s specs (frame rate, resolution, duration, codec) and repaired on a copy, never the original: audio removed, HEVC re-encoded to H.264.
- Writes the title and keywords into the video file as XMP, right before upload. Adobe Stock and Pond5 read it. Shutterstock and Getty do not, so Rushlot fills their CSV import as well. Measured on a real account, 2026-09-07, 2026-09-08, 2026-09-11
- Four sets, one per marketplace, drafted from your own title. You review them before anything is sent.
- Never. You press Submit on Shutterstock, Pond5 and Getty yourself; Adobe Stock moves an SFTP delivery into review on its own. Measured on a real account, 2026-09-07
Tools that work on video
If you keep MyKeyworder for photos, these handle clips as well. Each line comes from the vendor’s own page, read on the date above.
PhotoKeyworder
A web AI tool that analyses several frames of a clip, for 3 credits a video; 30-day plans start at 8.99 € before VAT for 133 videos. For video, its metadata is “not embedded directly into video files”: you get a CSV. Its home page mentions no upload to the agencies. [5][6]
AutoKeyWorder
A Chrome extension that reads several frames of a video (5, its support page says) for 3 credits and types the title and keywords into the upload form on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock and other sites. “The extension never submits for you.” 1,000 credits cost $9.99. [7][8]
Xpiks
Desktop software for macOS, Windows and Linux that edits XMP, IPTC and EXIF metadata and uploads photos, vectors and videos over FTP, SFTP or FTPS. Basic is free (15 files a session); Pro is 49 € one-time for a year of unlimited files (renewal 39 €). [9][10][11]
ImStocker Studio
A desktop app for Windows 10+ and macOS 12+, free with unlimited files, video included; for video, its metadata goes through the CSV it exports. PRO, from $14.50 for 3 months before tax, uploads and submits. [12][13]
StockSubmitter
Windows software that fills metadata, uploads and submits your content on up to 40 agencies, including Pond5 and iStock ESP. For macOS it points to an online version at microstock.plus. From 4 € a month after a free plan. [14]
Which to choose
Keep MyKeyworder if you keyword photos, in Lightroom or on the web, and want a free tool in your own language.
Choose Rushlot if you sell footage on Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Pond5 or Getty Images and want each clip checked, the metadata written into the file, one set per marketplace, and the upload done to your own accounts, with Submit left to you.

Frequently asked questions
MyKeyworder’s pages, read on 29 October 2026, do not mention keywording video. Tools that do: PhotoKeyworder and AutoKeyWorder draft metadata from frames, Xpiks and ImStocker Studio upload over FTP, StockSubmitter uploads and submits, and Rushlot checks, describes and uploads each clip to four marketplaces.
Xpiks Basic is free for 15 files a session, and ImStocker Studio’s free version handles unlimited files, though uploading needs PRO. PhotoKeyworder gives 20 free credits and AutoKeyWorder 50. Rushlot gives 20 clips free, no card.
Xpiks uploads over FTP, SFTP or FTPS; ImStocker Studio PRO uploads and submits; StockSubmitter uploads and submits. AutoKeyWorder fills the upload form in your browser. Rushlot uploads to your own Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Pond5 and Getty Images accounts and never submits.
PhotoKeyworder says it does not for video; AutoKeyWorder types into the upload form; ImStocker Studio sends video metadata through its CSV. Xpiks edits XMP, IPTC and EXIF but does not say whether that covers video. Rushlot writes XMP into the clip, which Adobe Stock and Pond5 read.
StockSubmitter lists Pond5 and iStock ESP. PhotoKeyworder offers ESP-compatible CSVs for Getty Images and iStock. AutoKeyWorder lists neither. Rushlot uploads to both: Pond5 over FTPS, Getty Images through Getty’s own web uploader.
Yes. It is still online and free, supported by donations, with keywording in 21 languages on its website and a Lightroom plugin at version 1.31. Its newest dated update is from 14 June 2020.
